Cockatoo is a bustling scenic town in the Dandenong Ranges, neighbouring Emerald, Avonsleigh, and Gembrook.

It has a small commercial centre that has been built along a steep section of McBride Street, featuring many cafes, restaurants and a small supermarket.

Like some of it’s neighbouring suburbs, Cockatoo has the pleasure of the Puffing Billy track passing through right near the town centre at the base of the hill.

Like it’s surrounding suburbs, Cockatoo also has a large focus on Football with the Gembrook Cockatoo Football Netball Club, and stays in healthy competition with rival clubs.
