If you’ve ever had a break from exercise then had a run, gardened for too long, had gastro and ended up with sore tummy muscles – you know what I’m talking about.
Studies have shown that very little will help you when you’re in this state. It is due to accumulated micro-trauma in the muscle fibres, and trials that compared the effect of anti-inflammatory drugs, massage, stretching, exercise, cool down and analgesics have shown that there is nothing more than temporary benefit from any of these, except more light exercise.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, you’ll just have to wait it out, it’ll be gone in three to four days!
